Workshops

Now is the time to think about booking for October 2010 through to May 2011!

If you want to progress further with your photography, learn about various techniques, composition, location finding or simply take the first steps with an SLR, We are happy to offer one to one workshops individually tailored to suit your needs.

One-to-One workshops range from £120-£150 a day (couples are also welcome to enquire) If you are based near the Wirral or Sefton coast then an evening session can be arranged for just £65 6pm un-till 1 hour after sunset (Summer time). Two Day workshops can be arranged for all locations and will range from £200 - £325 depending if an overnight stay is required, please contact for further details.

The basis for these workshops will be to help give an understanding of the photographic process at whatever level you are currently at. During the workshop emphasis will be on you taking images rather than watching Eli. This method will allow you to develop your approach with guidance about composition, depth of field, filter use and much more. Don't worry if you are not familier with any of the terms, as they will covered throughout the day.

Based in the North-West, Eli has an extensive knowledge of the Lakes, Wirral, Yorkshire Dales, North Wales and The Peak District.

Single day workshops during the summer will start Lunchtime and end after dark, Autumn and Winter Sessions will start Mid Morning. Two day workshops will start Lunchtime on the the first day and end after dark on the second, which will include a dawn shoot.

Below are some Location suggestions

Wirral Peninsula - Full day session £120 - Evening Session - £65

Experience abandoned boats at Heswall, wonderful rocky forms near Hilbre island and of course the Lighthouse at New Brighton. Thurstaston common is also a great location, offering great views across the River Dee.

Snowdon - Pen-y-Pass and Llyn llydaw - Full day session £150

Capturing the granduer of this majestic mountain is truly wonderful experience, and there are many possibilities in the Snowdonia National Park with the option of the Lleyn peninsula not to far away. I would suggest a two day workshop here, however a one day workshop would also be a great experience.

Llanddwyn Island - Anglesey - Full day session £150

Llanddwyn island is a short walk from the mainland at the southern most tip of Anglesey. A day here offers a huge number of photographic opportunities, including views towards Snowdonia, rocky shores, ancient monuments and a wonderful woodland if that takes your fancy. This location requires the checking of tide times, something that we will cover on the workshop.

The Lake District - Keswick (Derwent Water), Buttermere, The Langdales, Wast Water - Full day session £150

The Lake district offers an infinite number of oppotunities, the above locations are to name just a few, and are by no means a list that is to be stuck to.
Experience the romantic wooden boats on the shore of Derwent Water and the view of Skiddaw from Ashness Bridge, both allowing for discussion about shooting water in the landscape. Or if preferred a trip to the ancient Castlerigg Stone Circle can offers some truly though provoking photography.
As an experienced walker Eli can take you to higher up locations such as Catbells, which offers views of Derwent water and also the most spectacular Newlands Valley.
Over to Buttermere lake and surrounded by mountains we would have a hard time not finding something to photograph. Book for May 2011 and experience the carpet of Bluebells found in Rannerdale.
Elterwater and Blea Tarn offer fabulous views of the Langdale Pikes, with numerous other opotunities these locations would offer a truly memorable day or two.

The Sefton Coastline - Formby and Crosby - Full day session £120 - Evening Session £65

The small dwarf pines and dunes at Formby offer a splendid opportunity to work by the coast. The day would be spent working with the relationship between the dunes grasses and trees. Simple dune forms really can provoke a wonderful emotional response to the landscape.

Back down the coast to Gormley's 'Another Place' installation at Crosby, where the cleverly placed 100 stong life sized iron statues offer numerous photographic opportunities. Start at Formby and end here or vice versa, either way the day would offer plenty of scope for learning.

The above locations are to name just a few, so if you have an idea of a particular area you would like to visit please don't hesitate to contact and discuss.

Don't own an SLR camera? (Single Reflex Camera with Changeble lens) - Then we have a spare for you to use. Just let us know at the time of enquiring.
